‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 7 spoilers: Maura makes a key choice

Early on this season on “Rizzoli & Isles,” we saw Maura Isles receive some very unfortunately news when it comes to a brain injury that could be life-altering. She had to think about what this could mean for her work, and in many ways it limits what has been her super-power over the course of the season.

Do we have a little bit more of a sense now regarding what she plans to do about this? It certainly seems that way, given that we’ve got for you below the first synopsis for “Shadow of Doubt,” the upcoming June 27 episode that (per SpoilerTV), will feature Sasha Alexander’s character making a decision that could impact her future in a variety of important ways:

“When a wealthy woman is found dead at the bottom of her stairs, we realize that this was no ordinary slip-and-fall accident. The team is pressed into a game of cat and mouse with a clever killer determined to get away with the perfect crime. Plus, when Maura decides to undergo minor surgery, the surprising part of her healing will be reconnecting with Hope (guest star Sharon Lawrence).”

Ultimately, this decision by Maura is happening early enough in the season so that one way or another, we’re going to get a little bit more of a chance to see precisely how it all unravels. Let’s just hope that it is every bit as strong character-wise as we imagine it would be sitting here and thinking about it now. Also, let’s hope that Maura emerges from it fine in the end.
