‘Murder in the First’ season 3 spoilers: The continuation of a case

Murder in the First -

The further we get into the third season of “Murder in the First” on TNT, the more complicated we imagine certain matters are going to become. We know in the premiere that we’re going to see the high-profile death of one Normandy Parker, something that will force Terry and Hildy into the uncomfortable position of trying to investigate with an entire city breathing down their neck.

So where do we go from here? That’s something that we could be seeing going into the second episode if the season (airing on Sunday, July 3 now due to the show’s delay) entitled “Tropic of Cancer.” We’ve seen already in a trailer that eventually we could see an incident that leads to great unrest and also racial tension in San Francisco; the synopsis below (via SpoilerTV) seems to indicate that further:

“As the hunt continues for the prime suspect in the Normandy Parker case, an anonymous tip forces Terry into an officer-involved shooting that sets off public uproar. A desperate Siletti reluctantly hires DUI defense attorney Alfred Arkin, but withholds essential trial information. Hildy gets good news for her future, and she and Terry cross a line together.”

Given that we have yet to actually see this story play out, of course there are still a wide array of questions worthy of wondering in terms of how we get to this point, and also precisely what sort of line Terry and Hildy end up having to cross. We’ll of course be back with some further insight before long.
