‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, episode 8 preview: Can The Hound move mountains … or at least The Mountain?

Mountain -

As we move closer to Sunday night’s new episode of “Game of Thrones” airing on HBO, we must at least comment on what are a deluge of popular rumors and ideas floating around on the internet. Specifically, we’re going to do it through the lens of some photos from Sunday night’s new episode “No One,” starting with this one all about The Mountain a.k.a. Robert Strong, if you really want to call him that now.

This photo itself is fairly inconsequential, as it shows Cersei looking on the resuscitated knight like he is some sort of golden goose. What’s more significant is the fact that this is a photo the network decided to release in the first place, given all of the talk of the trial by combat and also the return of The Hound to the show last week.

The history between The Hound and The Mountain is pretty well documented, and Sandor was within what may as well have been some sort of independent religious commune led by Brother Ray before the Brotherhood Without Banners went in and screwed everything up. Could The Hound return to King’s Landing and become a champion for the High Sparrow against his brother? If so, it’d be epic, and we know that this is precisely the battle that many want to see. It’d certainly justify waiting for so long to see Sandor again on the show.

Now that we’ve said all of this, there is a part of us that would be bummed if the only reason we were bringing back The Hound was for him to fight Franken-Mountain. We’d want to see him reunite either with Arya, who he had an interesting dynamic with to say the least, or the woman responsible for almost killing him in Brienne.

Maybe we’ll have some answers come Sunday night, but for now be sure to share your thoughts below, and head over here to get some other news when it comes to “Game of Thrones”!
