‘Major Crimes’ season 5 strikes casting gold with ‘Justified’ alum Jere Burns
If there was not already a reason to be excited for the new season of “Major Crimes” on TNT premiering on Monday night, we bring you the following: You’re going to have a chance to see “Justified” alum Jere Burns in action on the series!
Not only that, but it seems like Burns could be playing one of the most dangerous characters we’ve had a chance to see over the course of the series so far! According to a new report from TVLine, the actor will be surfacing in the August 1 episode entitled “Moral Hazard” as Eliot Chase, a former engineer who feels slighted by a number of people who have wronged him, and as a result of that, is going to do what he can to seek revenge.
One of the reasons why this guy could be particularly dangerous for Sharon and the rest of the team is because he’s not one of the run-of-the-mill villains that they’ve had a chance to square off against over time. Odds are this man is fiercely intelligent, and is going to be able to use some of this intellect in order to ensure that his goals are met.
As we mentioned, the new season is premiering Monday night; while the show seems to be going back to more of its procedural roots after the “Hindsight” arc from earlier this year, we do imagine that there will still be a few through-lines here and there that last over the course of the entire season.

Agreed! – I think the through-lines are one of the strong-suits of this show and the “Hindsight” arc clearly raised the bar. But I’m pretty sure the upcoming season will live up to our expectations!
