‘Person of Interest’ season 5, episode 12 reaction: Keep fighting
Last week on “Person of Interest,” the big twist came in the form of subtraction as we saw the end of the character of Root. It was one of the saddest moments that we’ve had a chance to witness on the show, and it made us wonder how the team would be able to press on.
Yet, they did, and tonight was more about addition. Specifically, we learned that there was another team out there doing their part to help, one who went in at the last minute to ensure that Reese and Shaw were protected during their mission to stop the assassination of the President. It was by and large powerful stuff, and as a whole we have to give mass kudos to the writers for bringing in familiar faces to front the other team.
Was the idea here to show that there is spin-off potential for the franchise? We’re not sure that’s it so much as just showing that the power of the Machine stretches far beyond even we know, and we’ve been there watching from the very beginning. The idea of there being more people out there with similar goals is simply just exciting, and it maybe gives Reese and Shaw a little bit more hope that they are not alone in bringing the fight to Samaritan.
Granted, they also still have Finch, who is doing what he can in his own way, even if his methods are different. Very little may have been resolved over the course of the hour, but we have now set the stage for a crazy final two episodes that will hopefully bring this battle home once and for all.

Season 5 could be about the overcoming of the obstacles that exist now. If they truly care for each other they will find a way to work thru everything..Such a path would be better than just a business relationship or on again off again drivel. Take a page from real life where people who truly deeply love each other find a way and persevere because love can conquer.
