‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 10 video: The Battle of Prestonpans begins

The second season of “Outlander” has been building towards some shocking and incredibly dramatic developments, but there is one that we know many have been looking forward to in particular for months: The Battle of Prestonpans. Visually, this may be one of the most ambitious things that the show has ever done; not only that, but historically the events here are of enormous significance since they could turn the tide on the entire Jacobite Rebellion.

The new promo for this episode below doesn’t necessarily offer up too much in the way of details regarding how the battle will end, but it does at least give you a better sense as to what the plan of attack is going to be for Jamie Fraser and the rest of the clans he has united for Prince Charles’ cause. We see them devise a sneak attack, and then also what are the beginnings of battle.

However, at the same time this sneak peek also makes it abundantly clear that there is also some doubt going into the battle, specifically on the part of Claire, who wonders whether or not these efforts will truly be successful. She is concerned still of what the adverse effects could be, and she really should be given her knowledge of how just one little move can create a domino effect that alters history drastically. Why else would she have been so intent on making sure that Black Jack Randall did not die at Jamie’s hand?
