‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 7: How will Maura’s injury impact her long-term?
While the good news following the season 7 premiere of “Rizzoli & Isles” is that Maura was not directly his in the shooting, the bad news is that she did discover a brain injury that could serious impede her abilities moving forward. It’s left the character in a tough position, where she may have to rely on others … at least for a short period of time. We’re hoping that she will be able to recover from it, but until that point it’s certainly possible that she will have to ask herself some more tough questions regarding her future.
For some other insight on this subject, just take a look at what executive producer Jan Nash had to say to TV Guide:
“Maura’s great gift is her giant brain … What does it mean to this character if in fact she can’t use it fully? Is she defined by her ability to know everything? [She’s] asking questions that we all ask ourselves. We all make decisions in our lives. It’s ‘I made a choice at a moment in time for very good reasons, but is that choice still relevant to me?'”
By the end of this season, the biggest thing that we can hope for is that Maura is doing better, and is ultimately happy with whatever she decides to do with the rest of her life. We know that she will have gone through a lot by that time, but we know her to be a fighter. Therefore, there’s no reason to have anything other than hope for a good while moving forward.
