Teen Choice Awards 2016: Maia Mitchell, ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ Tyler Blackburn top drama polls
Over the course of the past week and a half, we have been presenting our take on some of the Teen Choice Awards’ first wave of nominees, including who we think will and should win them. For more on that, head over here to take a look!
Now that fans have been voting for our personal Teen Choice polls for quite some time, we figured now would be the time to pop in and share briefly what some of the results are. These polls were meant to just be fun and have no bearing on anything, but we do think there is something interesting here in terms of whether or not these results end up aligning with what the ones are during the show on Fox come July 31. Do CarterMatt readers share the same opinion as Teen Choice voters? Time will tell, but for now, here are the results of the drama categories. (Tomorrow we’ll share results for the Sci-Fi / Fantasy category, and on Thursday we’ll be here to talk a little bit more about Comedies.)
Choice TV Show: Drama – With an impressive 51% of the vote (more than the rest of the nominees combined), “Pretty Little Liars” is the readers’ pick. We’re not really too shocked by this. It’s a show with a huge teen following, and it has been very successful on the show in the past.
Choice TV Actor: Drama – This was a little bit of a closer showdown, ironically this time between two “PLL” actors in Tyler Blackburn and Ian Harding. Still, with 49%, Tyler was enough to win the title of CarterMatt reader favorite.
Choice TV Actress: Drama – It was once again a battle here of Freeform shows, but in this case, voters chose Maia Mitchel from “The Fosters” has their favorite over Troian Bellisario and Ashley Benson from “Pretty Little Liars.” Maia secured just over 50% of the vote.
