Could ‘X Factor’ alum George Shelley return for ‘Xtra Factor’ gig?
One of the stranger things that has come out of the past few seasons of “The X Factor” is that many former contestants have had just as much success in the hosting realm as they have being performers. Some have went into acting / stage work, while others have tried their hand at reality TV and presenting.
For Rylan Clark-Neal, for example, he has been a fixture on “Big Brother UK” and is now, per The Sun, in talks to host “The Xtra Factor” alongside Rochelle Humes. To go along with that, the site also claims that another former contestant in George Shelley (formerly of Union J) could be added as a social-media correspondent. Here’s what one source had to say on the matter:
“George was a huge hit when he was in the jungle [for ‘I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here’] and he has proved to be a capable host on Capital FM … With an ageing judging panel this year, producers hope George can keep younger viewers engaged.”
If this happens, one of the bigger elements of irony that could come out of it is the fact that Shelley’s group was voted by the judges to advance over Rylan when the two were a part of the same season of the show. Now, they could work together in collaboration rather than battling against each other for survival.
We’ll hopefully find out more soon; the new season of “The Xtra Factor” will premiere alongside “The X Factor” a little bit later in the summer.
