Is ‘Talking Preacher’ new tonight on AMC?
Last week was a bit of an odd one when it comes to AMC and their programming schedule. With it being Memorial Day Weekend (otherwise known as a particularly weak one for TV), the network obviously did not want to run the risk of “Preacher” losing a lot of viewers in its second week. With that in mind, they decided to re-air the pilot episode, only to then put the “Talking Preacher” aftershow online after it. We understand that programming-wise they were in a tricky position trying to figure out where to put “Talking Preacher” (there wasn’t time after the premiere), but we almost wish they had waited until tonight to air it.
Why? The second episode of “Preacher” is airing tonight, and that would’ve been a prime opportunity for the aftershow to air after a new episode. Unfortunately, that’s not happening; instead, AMC will be using the 10:00 p.m. Eastern spot for the new series “Feed the Beast.”
So when will “Talking Preacher” resume once more? We’d say to look towards the finale later this summer, since that was what was previously announced. At that point, you’ll likely have a chance to see Chris Hardwick and some cast / producers break down what you had a chance to see this season. Maybe there could be more after season 2, depending of course on what the ratings are the rest of the way this year. This is typically the litmus test for these sort of things.

I’m glad there isn’t a talking preacher to be honest. Initially the “Talking x” was more of a Q&A of guests, stars of, and viewers. More and more @hardwick has been trying to act like a therapist and not a host. He jokes about it, but even the language of his questions/own opinions are getting clinical. He needs to dial it back.
