‘America’s Got Talent’ video: Tape Face does ‘impressions’ of Simon Cowell, judges

Tape Face -

We’re not sure if “America’s Got Talent” really knew that Tape Face would become somewhat of a viral sensation prior to his audition airing on Tuesday. While he did have a lengthy segment, he was not given the prime real estate at the end of the show.

Yet, the mime / comedy artist has proven to be the show’s biggest star so far on social media, and his audition now has more than 14 million views on YouTube. Clearly, this is a man with huge potential this season!

The video below is one of many featurettes that the show has put out on YouTube, and this one features him “answering” some questions by someone we presume is a producer. In here, he also does impressions of Simon Cowell and the judges that aren’t really impressions at all, but at the same time we can sort-of picture them giving the reactions that he is doing with his face.

For those of you relatively new to the show, what will likely happen next (the show does change this up from time to time) is that there will be another performance round where the judges will make further cuts. From there, they will do their part to narrow things down to a smaller group for the live shows, and proceed to turn over the voting to America. We have to think that even if he does not get put through directly, there’s a certain appeal to doing a wild-card round just to ensure this happens. In an age of singers completely dominating most of these shows, it’s nice to see someone else who is a true original as a performer.
