‘Supergirl’ season 2: Why Melissa Benoist is happy for CW move

Supergirl -When it was first announced that “Supergirl” was moving over to The CW after a year at CBS, maybe there were some out there who were worried about budget, about the cast, or about any other possible changes that could come when season 2 premieres this fall. However, in the end it feels like everything is working out great; while it’s possible that we lose weekly appearances from Calista Flockhart, even that has not been confirmed as of yet. It’s certainly still possible that we end up seeing roughly the same show we did for most of last season all over again.

Star Melissa Benoist has spoken out about the move on a few occasions now, with her telling “Entertainment Tonight” that one of the things she is most excited for in particular is a chance to be able to tell longer stories, as opposed to some of the shorter arcs that were probably needed for a network in CBS with more of a procedural audience:

“I think it’s really fitting. It’s the logical fit for us. It’s a really great group to be involved with … What I’m most excited about is we get to kind of linger a little more on certain storylines from the comic books that maybe we didn’t get to do last season. Spread out storylines, which I’m really excited about.”

It’s a little too early to tell as of yet what some of these storylines could be, but given that the first season ended with a mysterious pod crashing to earth, we have to imagine that this is going to be very important to the story at some point in the early going.
