‘The Walking Dead’ creator Robert Kirkman clarifies George R.R. Martin – ‘Game of Thrones’ comments
Robert Kirkman clearly wants the internet to know one thing: He doesn’t really think that George R.R. Martin did something bad by telling “Game of Thrones” showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss some secret plot details from the final books in the A Song of Ice and Fire series.
The creator of “The Walking Dead” comics made the comment that he was “disappointed” in Martin over his decision in an interview with Rolling Stone, where he was promoting his new show on Cinemax in “Outcast.” However, he’s now coming out and making it clear that it was meant more as a joke than how it came across in the article. you can see his full reaction in a series of posts on Twitter below, saying that it was the “wrong word” and that “Game of Thrones” is his favorite show on TV.
Do we really think that Martin will have any sort of negative response to what Robert said? Not really, and mostly because he has shown himself over the years to be extremely diplomatic and understanding of most commentary that is out there. He’s also been around long enough to know how easy it is to have comments interpreted in a far different way than intended. Heck, he’s probably had it happen a thousand times in the past year with The Winds of Winter alone.
New episodes of “Game of Thrones,” which continues to be ahead of the books for the most part, will continue airing on HBO Sunday nights.
