‘Blindspot’ season 2 spoilers: Show boss on team’s ‘common mission’

Sure, we have seen the team over on “Blindspot” fracture and go a variety of different directions, but if there is one thing that could unite them in a significant way, it is this: The idea of them all working with a common enemy in mind.

There’s a reason for Weller and the rest of the team to be angry at Jane, and that is a result of her believing Oscar more so than them. She really started to buy into ideals and thoughts that were far-from-true, and it is only now that she has a chance to really approach the center once more. We’ll learn more about who Jane really is during the first episodes of season 2, and show creator Martin Gero makes it clear (per TVLine) that the stories ahead could be able to unite the team rather than divide them … which is a cause for celebration given the course of recent events and what happened to Mayfair:

“Even though they’re really upset at Jane, they all have a common goal now, which is bringing down the people that did this to Mayfair and trying to find out what this is all about … For the first time since the pilot, they’re all operating with the same amount of knowledge. Everybody’s going to be on the same page, everyone will have access to all the information that Jane has, and Jane will have all the information that they have.”

The second season will almost certainly still have its challenges and its new faces who could come in and try to wreck the system, so don’t expect this equilibrium to have too much of a lasting impact. It may just take some time for us to truly realize the course of all that is transpiring.
