‘America’s Got Talent’ audition for Tape Face goes viral

AGT -While YouTube views are not exactly a strong indicator of long-term viability on a show like “America’s Got Talent,” we do still view them as important for a number of different reasons. To us, one of the biggest things that comes out of this is that it provides you with a chance to at least see what people are talking about!

Just a matter of days after the premiere, one thing is clear: People really love Tape Face, the odd / fascinating mime acts who managed to win rave reviews from the judges. When he first went out on stage in his getup, it was easy to think that this was just the sort of odd-stunt act that was going to be novelty only. Yet, there’s something artistic and wonderful about it; what he did was something fairly simple, but at the same time incredibly creative … and viewers are clearly responding to it at present.

At the time of this writing (which is around 5:00 a.m. Eastern time on Friday), the Tape Face audition video has almost nine million views, which is more than three times any other act who tried out on the show. This is more even than the only act with a Golden Buzzer so far!

There’s no guarantee that Tape Face makes it to the live shows, but after these sort of rave reviews, plus him being so unique in a competition filled with so much sameness, it would be a huge disappointment, and likely a disservice to the show itself, if he gets eliminated soon.
