‘Chicago Fire’ season 5 spoilers: An epic battle continues
Based on what we saw at the end of “Chicago Fire” season 4, there is going to be serious tension between the characters of Jimmy and Boden. Can you really be all that shocked? It’s hard to be, mostly from the standpoint of looking specifically at what happened to them, or specifically, what happened to Jimmy’s brother that has brought Jimmy to a breaking point.
As executive producer Matt Olmstead makes it clear to TVLine, the tension between the two could eventually be combustible enough that one of the characters is not going to make it to the other side of the fray:
“The main battle going into next season is [between Jimmy and Boden], and one of them isn’t going to be around [after it].”
Of course, this will be far from the only tension that you see on the fifth season, though that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who has watched this show in any sort of devoted fashion over the years. This is a series that really sets itself apart thanks to its character drama, with much of it motivated by real things and issues that we could easily see coming up in the real world.
The new season should premiere at some point in either September or October, and whether it be through this story or what Casey and Dawson are going to be up to, we imagine that it won’t take a long period of time before there are some more developments to go alongside what we already have.
