‘Royal Pains’ season 8, episode 4 preview: Jill Flint returns for 100th episode

Next week is the 100th episode of “Royal Pains,” and when you think about that, hopefully the word “celebration” comes quickly to mind. This marks a chance for the show to effectively commemorate all that has come up so far … and also look back to the past.

It’s with that in mind that we’re thrilled to see Jill Flint coming back, given that it has been so long since we’ve seen her on the show. In between seeing her and also getting a chance to see Hank head back to the ER, there are going to be many reminders of the show’s pilot over the course of the hour.

“In the 100th episode, Hank works a shift in the ER for the first time in years. Jill makes a surprise visit to the Hamptons. Jeremiah bonds with a patient he secretly admires, and Divya worries for a patient.”

Maybe seeing Jill will if nothing else provide further encouragement to Hank as he figures out his own romantic future. Over the past few weeks we’ve certainly see him try to put himself out there, but for one reason or another, it hasn’t worked. While it has not always been flashy TV, what the show does that works rather well is that it gives us so many different opportunities to see real relationships play out. Often, they don’t really end with any sort of big dramatic flourish; they are simple, and much more human. Neither person is terrible because it didn’t work out as they hoped.
