Is ‘Arrow’ season 4 new tonight? The path to season 5

Arrow -It has been a crazy, if at times polarizing, ride through the fourth season of “Arrow” — but now, the end really is here. The finale for the show aired on The CW last week, and hiatus is here from now until October.

Were we left off on a satisfying note? That depends on who you talk to. For us, upon reflection we do like the notion that some of these people are looking out to find themselves. For Thea, that includes not being around Team Arrow for some time after becoming more like her father than she would ever care to admit. Meanwhile, Diggle’s move to join the military again makes sense, given that he is trying to find a better purpose given what he went through with his brother Andy. We do question him leaving his daughter for such a stretch of time, but maybe they’ll pay that off down the line.

There really hasn’t been too much at all confirmed about season 5, other than that Oliver will likely be somewhere new in flashbacks (provided that they are even there), and we will have some new villains turning up. We feel like the problem now is that the show needs someone a little juicier and iconic from the comic books who can have a tie to the Green Arrow; Ra’s al Ghul was iconic, but he’s thought of more as Batman. Meanwhile, they could never really make the Damien Darhk – Oliver rivalry incredibly compelling. We’re pulling for a Deathstroke return, but with that being unlikely, it may be back to the drawing board for the producers for some time.

We will have more “Arrow” news through the summer, so keep coming back for more scoop!
