Ratings: ‘The Bachelorette,’ ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ ‘Mistresses’ all down
The summer season is officially upon us, but based on the ratings that we saw on primetime TV last night, it may not be one full of sunny skies for the major primetime networks.
As a matter of fact, there’s not a single bit of good news for us to write about today! Therefore, let’s just go ahead and chronicle how some of the shows on the air ended up performing.
“The Bachelorette” – With a 1.6 in the 18-49 demographic, the reality sensation lost a big chunk of its premiere audience. Maybe you blame the NBA playoffs for a part of this; we do feel like it’s going to be just fine over the course of the entire season, so there’s really not too much to worry about.
“So You Think You Can Dance” – We’re still not entirely sure why someone decided that a season featuring kid dancers was the right way to go about doing things, but with a 1.0 rating for its premiere, we think the audience has spoken about this not being the greatest idea. the premiere wasn’t as terrible as we expected, but we’ll take the classic show over this any day of the week.
“Mistresses” – Even with the show moving to after “The Bachelorette” on Monday nights, it still only premiered to a 0.7. This show is really making a solid case as to why “Bachelor Live” should just extend into the summer, since it’ll draw these same sort of ratings, if not better, for a heck of a lot less money in return.
“Person of Interest” – Meanwhile, the CBS show generated a 0.8 rating. It’s ending anyway, but we still wish that it was ending with a bang.
