There are season finales for certain shows out there, and then there is the one that “The Flash” chose to give you on The CW last night. That one was the equivalent of a gut-punch and someone melting your entire brain.
It’s hard to really process everything that happened in that final hour, but the thing that obviously matters most here is Flashpoint. Barry Allen, in a moment of grief, panic, frustration, and determination to change what he felt was a horrific part of his life, went back in time to save his mother. In doing so, he’s likely changed everything not only for this show, but also the others. Without Barry as The Flash, we’d presume that every other show from “Supergirl” to “Arrow” to “Legends of Tomorrow” is different in some way.
We’re not sure how much some of the other shows are really going to be touching on this subject, and it’d be exciting to find out! With that in mind, we really hope we do at some point over the coming months.
Unfortunately, we’re going to be waiting until October most likely for definite answers. There is no new episode of “The Flash” tonight, and the rest of the summer will be spent (at least on our part) likely scouring the internet and trying to uncover every little clue we can for some further information on this epic twist. We just hope that it lives up to the billing we have for it in our heads.
