‘Arrow’ season 5: Stephen Amell clears up media-generated ‘movie’ confusion

Oliver -Is there an “Arrow” movie, or is there not an “Arrow” movie? As William Shakespeare has himself said many times over, that is the question.

Well really, it hasn’t actually been a question at all. Nothing has been ever announced, and some media outlets are just going berserk over the idea since A) it’s a slow news weekend because of Memorial Day, and B) Stephen Amell is on a lengthy press tour promoting the latest “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie. Therefore, there’s a lot of opportunities to twist words and make mountains out of molehills.

Amell clarified everything on Twitter following some “rumors” saying that he’s never given a clear answer one way or another on the subject of a movie. This isn’t the first time that the media has sparked up a story during this press tour, either; recently, we saw Amell deny saying for certain that there was a huge four-part crossover on The CW this fall. While we think there’s a good chance of something happening, it hasn’t been confirmed by anyone just yet.

This is the thing that we’ve never quite understood: Why does there need to be an “Arrow” movie? Given that we’ve already got a rather-awesome show on The CW, shouldn’t that really be enough? There’s not exactly anything that a movie would give us that we don’t get on TV, especially since it gives you so much more time to tell stories. Remember here that if there ever was a movie, the production time would be so long that, unless there was some real trickery, we’d probably lose some episodes during the season.
