“Grey’s Anatomy” has taken us on quite a journey this year, something that really should feel rather familiar given how many times they’ve done it over the course of the show. Yet, we’re still okay on the other side, breathing and anxious to see what Shonda Rhimes and company come up with next.
Here’s the unfortunate part of the equation: We’re going to be waiting still for some time to make it to the other side, given that there is no new episode airing on ABC tonight, and there won’t be another one at all until we get around until September. There are many obvious reasons for that, with the biggest one being that no show, even daytime dramas, is going to run for 52 weeks a year. You gotta take breaks somewhere! The fact that “Grey’s” goes for almost half of the year is remarkable in its own way.
Filming for the series will pick up once more in the summer, and for now, it doesn’t feel like there are any sweeping changes to the cast beyond the sad exit of Sara Ramirez, which we had some time to prepare for because of some rumors. Also, that exit may not be as sad simply because we’ve known that it could be coming for a rather long time, so it wasn’t quite like we were blindsided by it.
Once there is more to report on the new season, the cast, or the story, rest assured that we’ll have it for you here. Be on the lookout!
