Next week, NBC is bringing back one of our favorite summer shows (or really one of our favorite shows in general) in “America’s Got Talent.” What’s there to be excited about? First and foremost, the prospect of something weird. This show has developed a real knack for getting unusual acts from all over to come and perform, and it produces something that is very different than anything else on TV.
One other thing we know some people will be excited about is the presence of Simon Cowell back on reality TV. This marks his first time since the end of the American “X Factor” a few years back that he has been around on a major network stateside, and in the video below, he explained a little bit more in terms of what he’s looking for, and what he is looking for in terms of a new judge.
The funny thing is that while Cowell is best-known as a super-serious and “mean” judge, we actually think that he is best in a more comedic setting. The entire panel on the British version of the show is tremendous, and if he manages to have a similar rapport with Howie Mandel that he does with David Walliams, we certainly feel as though he is going to be in wonderful shape. He’s also got a few good one-liners of his own, and we think that him being a father in particular has softened him when it comes to kids.
We will have more on this new season next week, so come back soon for more!
