TV Quick Hits: ‘The Americans’ renewed, ‘BoJack Horseman’ premiere date, and ‘Fuller House’ promotions
“The Americans” reaches its end – It’s a little bit of good news and bad today when it comes to FX’s “The Americans,” but we’ll start with the good: The series, which stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, is going to be back on the air soon!
The network confirmed today that there are going to be two more seasons of the show, and that’s it. The sixth season premiering in 2018 will be the last for the series. Is that sad? Sure, but when you consider the ratings, it’s remarkable that it lasted for that long. “The Americans” should be proof to showrunners everywhere that FX is one of the best places to work; they will support your show through and through, even when the ratings aren’t quite what you want them to be.
“BoJack Horseman” return date revealed – The dark, subversive, and funny satire of Hollywood culture, featuring Will Arnett voicing a talking horse, now has an official premiere date for season 3: July 22. If you can wait just over two months, it’s going to be worth it to see this brand of hilarity back on the small screen.
“Fuller House” promotions – Juan Pablo di Pace and Scott Weinger have some more job security heading into the next year! These two actors played Kimmi’s ex Fernando and DJ’s longtime love interest Steve on the Netflix series, and per Deadline, the two are now series regulars. If nothing else, consider this a sign that they are in the show’s long-term plans; even if they don’t end up with these ladies, they will still be around for a while.
