‘Ink Master: Peck vs. Nunez’ to be season 8; Oliver Peck, Chris Nunez face off
There was a whole lot to get through on the “Ink Master” finale, but of course there was one thing in particular we know that many out there were excited to see: What would be coming up on “Ink Master” season 8 premiering on Spike later this year. Update: We now know a debate: August 23.
Basically, next season seems to be in some ways “Ink Master” meets “The Voice.” The title is “Ink Master: Peck vs. Nunez,” as both Oliver Peck and Chris Nunez are going to form teams of tattoo artists in order to square off against each other. There will be more tattoo artists than ever before, but there will also be a mass elimination at some point in the early going. It’s a way to really weed out the bad early, and focus more on those who are skilled.
Is this a cool idea? The big issue that we have at the moment with this concept is that Oliver and Chris are both judges, and by nature they are going to be biased towards their own team. In theory, this could mean that Dave Navarro is forced to be peacemaker even more than ever before to try to figure out who stays, and who goes home (is this really going to be the Dave Navarro chooses the winner season?). The real quality of the season will depend on the cast, and we will not know that for some time still.
Here’s the funny thing: There’s already one more season of the show confirmed beyond this! The network has already confirmed season 9, which will air at some point in 2017.
