When could ‘Ink Master’ season 8 premiere on Spike?
Tonight marks the end of “Ink Master” season 7 on Spike, but as per usual, the network is far ahead of the game when it comes to figuring out its future on the air.
It was all the way back in 2015 when season 8 of the show was officially ordered. This time around, the show is going to air fifteen one-hour episodes to go along with a live finale; this is two episodes more than season 7, and it is an equal order to season 6. We’re actually somewhat curious why the network opted for a somewhat shorter season this time around, but they did.
Anyhow, the initial announcement said that season 8 would go into production at some point in the spring, and it’s certainly possible that it has all been filmed already. That must create some rather confusing situations for the judges trying to keep track of multiple seasons that are all going on at the same time, but hey, it’s their job to do so!
Just for the record, know that Spike has already renewed the show for a season 9, which is an even further testament to the sort of success they have found with this franchise, which is a consistent ratings performer for them; also, it shows just how much of an investment that they have in its future. They tend to do one or two seasons of it a year, and we don’t see that slowing down anytime soon so long as there remains some great talent to cultivate from the tattoo world.
