‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ finale results preview: Will Nyle DiMarco, Paige VanZant, or Ginger Zee win?

Tonight, everything becomes official on “Dancing with the Stars,” as the champion of season 22 will become clear from the three names at the top of this article. We do think that Nyle, Paige, and Ginger have done some good stuff over the course of this season, but only one of them can have that Mirrorball Trophy.

Let’s start off here by discussing Ginger Zee, who is receiving a surprising amount of nastiness online. We’d steered clear of most of the forums and fan polls on the internet, and it’s clear that people are not thrilled that she made it this far. Some are playing up the conspiracy angle since she works for ABC. We don’t think that is what happened here so much as Wanya Morris having a bad week at the wrong time and being eliminated because of it. Ginger wasn’t as bad last night as some have made her out to be; she was very good, but slightly over-scored especially when it comes to the freestyle. This was a nice tribute to Old Hollywood, but it didn’t really compare to the other two on the night. She’ll finish in third place, and should feel good about her journey this season.

This is where things, at least from a prediction standpoint, start to become more complicated. Nyle DiMarco and Paige VanZant are both really strong dancers, and while there are people out there who understandably have their preferences, we have a hard time thinking that either one of them would be a terrible winner when they’ve each got so much going for them in terms of momentum and talent.

Personally, our heart goes with Nyle because of the passion that he dances with, and the commitment that we feel from him; yet, at the same time there is no denying how strong Paige has been, either.
