‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Jessica Chapshaw tributes Sara Ramirez following exit

Grey's AnatomyHave you recovered yet from the ending of “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12? It’s ironic that it was actually probably one of the happier finales that the series has produced, at least in terms of there being no enormous tragedy and no major characters dying, and yet there is still a reason to be sad courtesy of Callie’s exit. Even more ironic is how she is exiting because of something happy, as she and Arizona came to a custody agreement that allows her to go out and live her life once more.

One thing to remember is that Sara Ramirez specifically used “break” in the context of her exit, so there is always a chance that she returns down the road. We don’t have anything new from her just yet, but we do have a rather lovely tribute below from her co-star and longtime screen partner Jessica Capshaw below. The two clearly had chances to grow close over the years thanks to playing these characters through their ups and downs.

Is there a part of us sad that Callie and Arizona never got back together? Sure, but sometimes, this is life. It’s rather hard sometimes to go back to a place where there is such hurt, and we especially don’t think there was enough room for it to happen in season 12.

Then again, never say never? If Ramirez ever does come back, who knows? Maybe Callie and Arizona will be single, and they will have a chance to make this relationship happen then if they are in the right place.
