‘Britain’s Got Talent’ lineup: Darren Altman, Kathleen Jenkins, 100 Voices of Gospel to perform in live show #1
For those of you out there who are “Britain’s Got Talent” super-fans, a group that we may also classify ourselves in, today is going to be a huge one! It is the beginning of the live semifinal shows, which happen over the course of five days. It begins today at 7:30 p.m. local time, and the semifinals will conclude on Thursday leading into the grand final next weekend. We’re going to have our hands full profiling / reminding ourselves of some of these acts, and also determining whether or not they have a genuine shot of moving on to the next round.
Below, you can take a look at the acts participating tonight! We’ll be back later with a review of the episode, and also the results at the end of the night.
100 Voices of Gospel – Alesha Dixon’s Golden Buzzer act. Tremendous on their first audition, but is the element of surprise still there? We also still need convincing that they are different than any other act we have seen before in this category.
Watch their audition below. (We’re going to do this for as many acts as we can.)
Ben Blaque – Famed marksman. This is far from the first television talent show he’s done, but he’s always super-dangerous and exciting. We hope he advances, but if one thing goes wrong he’ll have a tougher time.
Darren Altman – Impressionist. Known for taking on a variety of fun characters. He made it into the live shows over the Mimic Men, who were shockingly eliminated.
Kathleen Jenkins – Singer. At the moment, the consensus favorite to make it to the next round.
Mel & Jamie – Mother / son singing duo. They were just on the show yesterday for the first time, so they’re having quite a whirlwind experience of going from having no fame at all to instant fame overnight.
Richard Bayton – Singer? Basically, he’s the show’s opportunity to give the buzzers a workout over the course of the broadcast.
Spartans Resurrection – Athletic dance / acrobatics group. It’s unlikely they will move on, but at least they are different than the standard act in this category.
Total TXS – Dance group. Basically the standard act in this category.
Ystrad Fawr Dancers – Ballroom dance group. They’re very talented, and they do have Wales behind them. Could be a darkhorse contender.
