‘Preacher’ series premiere video: Tulip fights in a cornfield
Why tiptoe through the tulips when you can fight in a cornfield? Maybe this should be the tagline for AMC’s new series “Preacher” … or not.
Either way, we feel like the sneak peek below from Sunday’s premiere episode (airing at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time) is a really good representation of what to expect from the upcoming premiere episode. It’s violent, intense, but also insanely choreographed, clever, and almost fun in a dark, subversive sort of way. This is the sort of stuff you see much more in movies than in television. The Tulip character is played by Ruth Negga, and will be an important part of the ten-episode first season.
If you really have not heard a lot about this series just yet, we suggest that you go ahead and take a look at the logline below:
“A conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Along with his ex-girlfriend and an Irish vampire, the three embark on a journey to literally find God. Based on the 1990s cult comic book series.”
Tulip certainly has a history with the main character Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), and we’re certainly excited to see how this will play out on the show. It’s an ambitious project, and one to date that has received quite a few rave reviews. We’ll be back on Sunday with our full take on the show courtesy of a lengthy review.
