‘Fargo’ season 3 spoilers: Ewan McGregor cast in dual roles
We know that “Fargo” has a tendency to book some big names for its parts, and the latest bit of casting news is just the latest proof of this very thing.
According to Entertainment Weekly, “Trainspotting” icon Ewan McGregor has been cast in not just one, but two roles on the third season, which is still many months away given that the FX show will not start filming until the temperatures cool north of the border. He is playing a set of brothers (not twins), and the character description is below:
“Emmit Stussy is the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. A handsome, self-made, real estate mogul and family man, Emmit sees himself as an American success story. His slightly younger brother, Ray Stussy, on the other hand is more of a cautionary tale. Balding, pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, Ray has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames his brother, Emmit, for his misfortunes.”
This certainly sounds like a great get for the show, but even if we were more concerned about it, we’d still have a lot of faith in “Fargo” to pull this off. Just look at the reputation that this series in particular has built up over time! The past two seasons have won some extremely positive reviews, and also have earned countless awards nominations for many of their stars. We’re still salty about Kirsten Dunst not winning a Golden Globe earlier this year.
