‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Fred Armisen, Courtney Barnett, Bobby Moynihan, and a little fun

This weekend’s new episode of “Saturday Night Live” is the last one of the season, and based on the promo below, it’s going to be a lively affair.

This one puts front and center none other than the host in Fred Armisen, who we imagine is going to have a lot of fun over the course of the night. Here, he engages in a little bit of randomness when it comes to musical guest Courtney Barnett and also cast member Bobby Moynihan … and there’s also a little bit of physical comedy thrown in here because why not?

Ultimately, we don’t have any reason to think that this episode will be anything short of hilarious, mostly because Armisen worked with many of these same cast members when he was on the show. There’s already a sort of natural rapport there, so we figure that the sketch-building was a collaborative process over the past few days. There’ll probably be some familiar sketches we see all over again, and we’d be really bummed if there weren’t any surprises thrown in there. The one thing that we do hope is that the show is able to keep them under wraps until the show airs; that’s probably easier said than done, but it would definitely be nice to see.

We’re going to of course be back this weekend with a live review of this weekend’s episode; for now, we haven’t heard if this will be the last show for any of the current cast members, but we like this group and we’d be sad to see anyone go.
