‘The Blacklist’ season 3 finale: Could Megan Boone return as Liz Keen?
Tonight, “The Blacklist” season 3 is firmly coming to a close with the second half of “Alexander Kirk,” which in turn is going to mark a great opportunity to put a little bit of a button on the third season. How will the story end? It’s a great question, and one we don’t have a firm answer to just yet.
We suppose, though, that above all else, the biggest question entering the finale is one that puts Megan Boone and her character of Elizabeth Keen at the center of attention: Is it possible that she turns back up in some shape or form? It may sound unlikely given her “dead” status, but that is precisely why we could see it happening.
First of all, who out there really thinks that the character is gone? She was far too integral to the story’s plot, and with Ryan Eggold and Famke Janssen now officially heading over to “The Blacklist: Redemption” next season, you do need a way to ensure that this show has an essence of familiarity to it beyond just Reddington and characters like Cooper and Aram. Giving us at least an indication that Liz is alive, even if she doesn’t show up physically, may be enough of a cliffhanger to excite the fanbase.
For those of you wondering how Liz could appear given Boone’s maternity leave, there’s an easy answer around that: They could have easily planned this out months in advance, and had her film something small prior to her character being “killed off.”
