‘Saturday Night Live’ finale preview: Fred Armisen, Kate McKinnon promise ‘answers’

SNL -This weekend, “Saturday Night Live” season 41 is going to come to a close, and it’ll be doing so with an episode that could pack in a lot of cameos, silliness, and also classic sketches. What else do you expect with Fred Armisen as the host?

The promo below is a leisurely take on Fred and Kate McKinnon at a park, and they also take a moment or two in here to try to answer some of life’s great questions … but we’re not sure they are successful at it at all. It’s a fairly funny promo; it’s not revolutionary, but Kate and Fred have great chemistry and it’s clear that he’s really psyched to be coming back for the finale.

In going back to cameos, we feel like one of the reasons he’s the perfect host for the finale is that he’s so well-connected. Given that Kristen Wiig has collaborated with him so much, it feels likely that she will be back. Plus, she’s got “Ghostbusters” to promote! We’d also be down for seeing Bill Hader in here, or even Seth Meyers in some sort of small cameo given how much work Fred has done for his late-night show.

Ultimately, this should be the episode that brings the entire “SNL” fandom together in a way that it really has not been in a little while. While we enjoyed the first episode this month, Drake was certainly uneven, and many shows this spring have been problematic in one way or another. This is a chance to shore everything up.
