‘NCIS: New Orleans’ season 3: Premiere date speculation for CBS drama
Tonight, “NCIS: New Orleans” had a really hard job: Trying to figure out a way to match the level of emotion that was in the episode before it. Given that the flagship “NCIS” show is in its 13th season and was saying goodbye to Michael Weatherly this week, that was no easy task.
Yet, we press on now to look more towards the future. What does the future hold here? There is no firm season 3 premiere date just yet, but it’s really hard to imagine anything significant changing here. If we were to guess, we’d say that the third season will probably premiere once more in late September / early October, and will run until May once more. We wouldn’t understand the incentive for CBS to move the show away from the flagship series, either; it draws good ratings in this spot, and at times this season, it’s even been fairly competitive to the regular “NCIS” in the numbers.
As for when we’ll know for sure, a little bit later this week we will have a chance to learn further as if CBS is going to keep things at the status quo moving forward. Beyond that, we should have a chance to learn probably over the summer as to what the precise premiere date is; networks typically take a little bit longer after upfronts in order to hammer out some of the finer details.
Be sure to check back soon over the course of the days / weeks ahead; we’ll have some further information as it starts to trickle in!
