‘Sherlock’ season 4 spoilers: Toby Jones to make villainous turn
For everyone out there anxious to get some other news when it comes to “Sherlock,” rest assured that the following bit of casting intel should help to satisfy. Whether or not it’s enough to keep you satiated until the show returns either later this year / early 2017, that remains to be seen.
What we do know for certain is that famed character actor Toby Jones will be stopping by the second episode of season 4 for what is a particularly villainous turn. There is no word precisely as to who we will be playing, though we do have a series of statements from the BBC, which give us at least some indication of what is coming up.
Jones – “I’m excited and intrigued by the character I shall be playing in Sherlock…”
Co-creator Steven Moffat – “Delighted to have Toby Jones on board, bringing to life one of Doyle’s finest villains.”
Co-creator / actor Mark Gatiss – “We’re thrilled to welcome one of our finest actors to the Sherlock family. I know Toby will embrace the part with true relish!”
The BBC does have a tendency to be incredibly secretive about their storylines, so you really cannot be surprised that this is all they are giving away right now. Also, they’re also more than aware that there is a long ways to go still until the show returns, so there is not too much of an incentive for them to start to share some scoop here and there early.
