‘Penny Dreadful’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Is Eva Green’s Vanessa heading back in time?

“Penny Dreadful” is a show that has taken a wide array of twists and turns already, but moving into the next new episode airing in one week’s time, things are going to get rather trippy. There’s not too much known about it at the moment, other than that it seems like it’ll be anchored by a heck of an Eva Green performance as we learn a thing or two further about what she ends up doing under the care of Dr. Seward. (Isn’t it nice to still have Patti LuPone on the show again?)

The synopsis below doesn’t necessarily reveal a whole lot regarding what is coming up, but hopefully it is enough to at least start to whet your appetite:

“Vanessa convinces Dr. Seward (Patti LuPone) to use hypnosis to take her back in time.”

The promo, meanwhile, is short and for the most part pretty uninformative beyond just the tone and the style of it. So long as you like it when this show embraces its inner weirdness, we have a feeling that you’re going to end up being fairly satisfied in the end. Hopefully, there’ll be something more pertaining to this episode over the course of the coming days, given that we are starting to get near the midway point of the season and it’s a time where there should be some answers that are starting to pop in.
