Is ‘Home Fires’ season 2 new tonight on ITV? The further quest to save series
Over the past six weeks, “Home Fires” has delivered magnificent drama, great characters, and some much more on ITV. The Cheshire-set war series has been the latest great product in a series of other excellent period pieces that have aired across British television over the past decade or so.
Unfortunately, it appears that the story is all-she-wrote right now, and we are not going to have an opportunity to learn if Pat ever finds her freedom and her happiness without Bob around, or if Teresa will ever determine what she really wants from her romantic life. ITV canceled the series during the week, so not only is there no new episode tonight, but we may never get the conclusion that we so seek.
However, the fans are already making their voice heard on this subject, and they are not too pleased. Want to help ensure that the show has a chance at a third season? Here are two things that you can do.
1. Head over to the link here, and sign the new petition. This has more than 15,600 signatures already as of this writing, which is impressive for a British drama that often did not receive many headlines over the course of this past season.
2. If you’re on Twitter and you are active at 9:00 p.m. local time in Britain (otherwise known as when the show would typically air), tweet your thoughts with #HomeFires and #SaveHomeFires. While there are no guarantees, anything can happen!
Ultimately we rather enjoyed the series, and would certainly like to see it back.
