‘The Amazing Race 28’ finale video: Preparing for arrival

Tyler -There was a good 42 minutes or so of footage that CBS could have pulled from for the season 28 finale of “The Amazing Race” on Friday night, and they did something that many fans out there may not have signed off on by any stretch of the imagination: They choose to give you airplane footage rather than anything of the actual race.

Other than showing off some pretty luxe seats for an airplane, this clip does almost nothing to tell you something that you don’t already know, other than that apparently Tyler & Korey are the prop comics of this season when it comes to busting out wigs. Of course everybody wants to win and feels good about their chances! Also, Sheri & Cole doing kung-fu in confessional is pretty entertaining.

We approach this episode with two different vantage points. Our head, the part of us that recognizes great gameplay and wants to win the most deserving performers, is pulling for Tyler & Korey. While they’d be the predictable victors of the season, can you look at the final three teams and say that any other outcome would be fitting for this season? They’ve won the most legs of the remaining teams; heck, they’ve won five times as many as the other two combined. (Granted, Dana & Matt are the only other team remaining with a victory under their belt.)

Now, let’s turn to Sheri & Cole, since our heart is pulling for them. It’s not so much becuase of the basis of need, since in theory anyone can use a million dollars. It’s more that they just feel like people who you would see in your own hometown and have such wide-eyed enthusiasm about the race. They’re also complete underdogs, and you love being able to look at this sort of show from a narrative point of view.
