‘Empire’ season 2 finale spoilers: Is Jussie Smollett leaving? Tweet points to exit
Is “Empire” star Jussie Smollett really starting to consider a future that does not include Jamal Lyon? Based on a new post on his official Twitter account, he certainly wants people to at least think that he is considering a future that does not involve being on the Fox drama any longer.
You can take a look at Smollet’s message below, which more or less states that he “enjoyed [his] time” being a part of the series, and he is off to “make a record and some movies.” How much should you buy into that? Well … probably not too much yet. Remember, Jamal was not officially written off as dead at the end of this past episode; there’s still a good chance he makes it through, and the official synopsis released for the finale already suggests that he does survive, but refused to do anything for his family musically until they all agree to stop the culture of violence that has started to underline who they are as people.
Ultimately, this could just be Smollett trolling fans into thinking that he’s really gone, and adding some more intrigue in the finale. While “Empire” is a demanding gig, there is technically time for him to do all of the things mentioned; he just has to find a way to prioritize it all, and be okay with the notion of not having a heck of a lot of free time.
We’ll definitely have some more news moving into Wednesday’s finale of the show, so be on the lookout for it!
