‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17, episode 22 preview: Brad Garrett guest stars as two-part finale begins
On Wednesday night’s new episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” we had an hour that took on reality TV (or, at least the show’s version of “The Bachelor”) in a way that few others have over the course of seventeen seasons. As per usual, it was a compelling case, and there is a certain amount of this we could envision happening in the real world.
Next week, the two-part finale is going to begin, and it is going to highlight another problem of great importance that often goes under the radar: Problems within the prison system. The synopsis below offers up some more insight into what to expect here:
“A corrections officer (Garrett) is arrested for sexually assaulting female inmates in and out of prison, and the union that supports him targets Barba (Raúl Esparza) and the SVU.”
The events of this episode are going to carry over into the finale, and unfortunately, the promo below doesn’t really offer too much more in the way of insight. The only things that we know for certain at the moment are that Garrett is going to be bringing a very different side of his acting chops to the role, and he could be a fairly terrifying, despicable man. Also, it looks like this could be arguably the biggest episode of the season for Barba, which we’re all for mostly from the vantage point of appreciating so much of what he brings to the table.
We’ll have more on this episode soon; stay tuned!
