‘Survivor: Kaoh Rong’ episode 13 video: A grueling reward challenge

There are only five castaways left on “Survivor,” and apparently now is the time that the show wants to really put its castaways to the test if they want to get what could be one of the final rewards of the season.

On paper, the reward challenge featured in the sneak peek below is standard fare: Run into the jungle, get some bags, and use them for what is effectively a giant carnival game. Yet, the part of this that involves going into the jungle could make it a little more exhausting. We haven’t seen that component too often this season, and the conditions are still really hot.

Based on this preview, it seems like Joe is really struggling compared to some of the others. He’s moving at the slowest pace, and if you recall he had to sit out of the final seven immunity challenge when he simply ran out of gas. We have all the sympathy and understanding in the world for the guy when you consider his age; we never thought we’d see someone over 70 play this game again after Rudy did, but Joe has pulled it off.

Whoever wins this reward will get a little bit of a chance to refuel, and who knows? That may be enough in order for them to persevere and make it to the final four. It’s a bit of an interesting situation, provided that this is the last week Tai can play his immunity idol. He’s basically safe so long as he plays it, and this means that Cydney and Michele are going to have to make some sort of a move since Joe and Aubry aren’t turning on each other. If Michele and Tai team up and grab Cydney, they’re suddenly the new power players.
