‘Blindspot’ episode 21 reaction: More on that Mayfair twist
If “Blindspot” really wanted to shake things up moving into their final two episodes of the season, it definitely feels fair to say that they have done that in the wake of what we just saw. Mayfair is now seemingly out, and to make matters worse, her arrest comes as a result of Jane being set up to help facilitate things. She never knew precisely what Oscar was doing, and now the entire future of the team is up in the air.
As for who is going to be impacted the most by this twist, you have to think that Weller is going to be at the top of the list. He has a lengthy history with Mayfair, and could be devastated at the notion of everything starting to fall apart.
Speaking on this subject further to Entertainment Weekly, Sullivan Stapleton had the following to say:
“That’s a shocking thing to happen to the team … Mayfair is Kurt’s mentor, and to have someone accused of such crimes and then shut down, it’s a huge point in his life and in his career.”
Is there still time to turn things around for these characters? We have to assume so, mostly because there’s still two episodes left. If there was only one, we’d be slightly more concerned that things were not going to be put together before season 2 rolls around. (Even with that, we do expect quite the cliffhanger coming up.) We’ll have more news on the stories ahead as they are reported.
