‘Suits’ season 6 spoilers: First teaser references empty firm, Mike’s imprisonment
While USA is not exactly giving away any major details in regards to the upcoming sixth season of “Suits,” they have gone ahead and done something that gives us at least a sense of the overall aesthetic: Released a brand-new teaser!
In this clip (which you can see over at Deadline), you can see specifically what some of the aftereffects are to some of the decisions that were made at the end of the fifth season. The firm is now basically empty, the result of a last-ditch move that was made to spare both Mike Ross and the firm. Meanwhile, Mike is now beginning to serve his time in prison, where he will have to contend with a variety of different unexpected challenges.
We have already said this, but we like that the show is not just giving you a time jump to where things are a little bit back to normal. We’re going to see these characters at their worst, only to then see if they can eventually become better people in the end. For example, we’ve always known Jessica Pearson and Harvey Specter on the show to have a certain degree of power; therefore, there is something exciting that could come from seeing them struggle.
It’s already been announced, but the new season is going to premiere on Wednesday, July 13 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Given the quality of the fifth season (which may actually be our favorite in retrospect), we certainly have confidence in what lies ahead.
