ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 21 video: What is Rick doing up late?
We’ve already spent a good amount of time as of late discussing “Castle” and whether or not it could be coming back for another season, but unfortunately, we don’t really have too much of a clear answer on that subject as of yet.
So rather than debating that further here, let’s go ahead and give you a sneak peek for Monday night’s new episode “Hell to Pay,” one that can certainly be described as bizarre. Rick is up late showing a little bit of obsessive behavior, and in the end he fights himself quickly frightened. So who is the one doing said frightening? It seems to be none other than Beckett, or maybe just an imaginary Beckett that he envisions being there.
The story for this episode beyond this is going to be a case that, according to Rick, could involve the Antichrist. Since we are so close to the finale, maybe there are some people out there who want some other information regarding LokSat or some other season-long mythology; for us, we’re fine with putting that off as long as possible so long as we’re going to get a chance to see more of the classic show that we’ve come to know and love. This includes Nathan Fillion’s character having some sort of crazy conspiracy theory about a case front and center … and while he may not be right, he may still be able to help. He’s proved himself to be rather great at that over time.

Sorry but I could not watch one minute and forty one seconds of Hell to Pay because of Nathan playing the part of the inane buffoon when so much more entertaining screen play could have been occurring. When will ABC realize that this character has always been inane and has now totally played out the part so that it is no longer humorous and never has been sensible, funny, realistic, grounded in truth, etc. the role of Castle is the role that should be ended not the well grounded, sensible, believable, smart, serious role of Beckett. If I wanted to watch something this inane and stupid I would watch the Saturday morning cartoons. But I did out grow and mature beyond that and then Castle came along and set me back to my grammar school years.

Person of interest is on Monday and Tuesday, just after NCIS on Tuesday. NCIS has never changed the core of the story since its beginning so many seasons ago, not like Castle this year.
