‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7, episode 21 preview: Kat Graham on Bonnie’s big turn
Is Bonnie Bennett now playing for the bad guys on “The Vampire Diaries“? Based on the events of this past episode, it certainly feels as though it would be very easy to make that sort of assertion … but it’s probably a little bit trickier when you consider just what her stance on vampires has always been. Now that she’s been imparted to finish the job for Rayna, she could be on more of a killing spree than before, but at the same time, doesn’t it make a little bit of sense for the character to do so given what vampires have done to her?
Bonnie’s struggle with vampires is something that Kat Graham even describes in a new interview with TVLine: “She has always felt that way, and has constantly had to battle that inner struggle throughout the seven seasons of the show.” She also claims that her character in her present state is “justified” rather than “evil,” and there is a clear distinction.
Are we still hopeful that we’re going to get a chance to see Bonnie reach some sort of fitting end to this story by the end of this season? Certainly, if for no other reason than that that there is probably one more season of the show to go, and we’d be shocked to see her continue to go about Rayna’s duties throughout the entire year. Graham has already said that she is planning to leave after season 8 (regardless of if that is the end of the show), so we’d like to see some more trademark Bonnie before that point.
