‘Reign’ season 3 spoilers: Adelaide Kane on Torrance Coombs’ exit

Reign -The great news this spring is that after a lengthy hiatus, “Reign” is back on the air! It’s too bad that we also have to remind you of some sad news, as well, given that Torrance Coombs (Bash) will be exiting the show before the end of the season. Following what happened to Francis, this is the second major character that the show is losing this season.

Are we at least going to see the character receive some sort of proper send-off? It at least appears that way, based on what Kane had to say on the subject in a new chat with TVLine:

“It’s a bummer, but Bash doesn’t have a lot of traction in Scotland. His storyline soon will come to its conclusion, and his character has other avenues to explore that might not necessarily be on screen.”

While this may be sad news, the following tease from Kane to the website should really give you a lot to be excited about next season:

“It’s a whole new chapter, a whole new country and a whole new court … There will be new friends and new enemies. We’re gearing up for some really big storylines in Season 4. Mary’s life didn’t even really start until she got to Scotland; that’s when things really kicked off for her. France was a lovely interlude, but it was only a small part of her life.”

As for whether or not “Reign” itself has many years left to continuing to tell Mary’s story, that remains to be seen. The show is one of the lowest-rated dramas on The CW right now, so you have to hope that it holds on the majority of the audience that it has right now, and the quality of the story stays high. If that happens, let’s hope we get to see more of this journey for years to come.

For now, new episodes of “Reign” are going to continue airing Monday nights alongside “Jane the Virgin.”
