‘Wayward Pines’ season 2 spoilers: First look on premiere episode!
If you have been curious to learn a thing or two more about “Wayward Pines,” we’re happy to provide that today! This week Fox has released some of the first news regarding their May 25 premiere, and it makes it clear that we are going to see a very different world and environment for the series. There are some returning cast members and guest stars (including Terrence Howard) in the premiere, but we’re setting up for an interesting and exciting new story.
Take a look at the synopsis below (via SpoilerTV) for some additional insight:
“The 10-episode psychological thriller picks up after the shocking events of the Season One finale, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) – a new resident of Wayward Pines – awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race. CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou), an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins, is the only one who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited. Megan Fisher (Hope Davis), is in charge of the scientific research being conducted on the Abbies, and remains deeply involved in the development of the hearts and minds of the future of humanity—Wayward Pines’ “First Generation”.”
Let’s just hope that this season can capture some of the intensity and intrigue of the first season, given that there is such a massive challenge in continuing what was originally supposed to just be a limited series. It was brought back based on success, but we’ve seen plenty of examples of shows that were really better off just ending when they were supposed to.
