‘Blindspot’ finale spoilers: Expect a completely different feel
If there is one thing that we have long advocated for when it comes to season finales, it is for them to take an about-face to what many others out there do. At this point, it feels almost easier to blow everything up with some of these shows than to slow them down, and give them a very different feel and pattern than you would expect.
Luckily, it does seem like one finale in particular for NBC’s “Blindspot” is going to be bucking that trend … at least somewhat. Based on what executive producer Martin Gero told Entertainment Weekly recently, it feels like more of the priority here is going to be on trying to tell a powerful story than one stuffed full of violence. There may still be surprises, but they could be of a different kind:
“There is a reveal in these last couple of episodes that turns the show completely upside down … [The finale] is the first episode where there’s not a single shot fired. That’s how much is going on emotionally.”
We applaud the move, mostly because we feel that in the long run, these sort of moves are going to lead to more people talking about and remembering this finale than anything else that the show could be doing. Sure, it’s a risky move, but we feel like it is definitely one that this show could pull off. We’ve seen those flashes of brilliance throughout this season.
We will have some further news on “Blindspot” soon; stay tuned!
