White House Correspondents Dinner 2016: Where to watch, live stream event on C-SPAN

C-SPAN -

There are few events that happen over the course of the year that are quite like the White House Correspondents Dinner. It’s a completely absurd festival of both opulence and silliness, and there is really a reason why it is commonly referred to as “nerd prom.” It’s a chance for power-hungry politicians to try to bring along fancy movie stars to sit in a room for no apparent reason. Meanwhile, a famous comedian / performer comes out and makes fun of everyone.

This year, that comedian is none other than “The Nightly Show” host Larry Wilmore, who will give us his own unique take on President Obama in the final year of the administration. Not only that, but there are so many other topics for comedy right now in between Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and the mass dogpile that has been the Presidential race. To think of just how much material has emerged for this event over the course of the past year.

So where do you watch, and how? The event is going to start at around 6:30 p.m. Eastern time, but typically the part of it that the majority of people care about is not until a couple of hours into the show, at the very least. There’s rarely ever a precise start time for the event, since it does shift and change here and there. There are other networks that carry it beyond C-SPAN, but that remains our network of choice … mostly because we enjoy listening to people make fun of C-SPAN.

Also, you will more than likely be able to stream the whole event Saturday from the network’s official site.

If you want to see more of what Wilmore has to say about hosting the event this year, you can do so by heading over to the link here right now! Also, sign up over here to secure some other TV news on all we cover, sent right over to you via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: C-SPAN.)
